Her achievements when she was a teenager in America (which we call Maureen O'Hara today) would have definitely put her into the child-prodigy class. This was a very natural characteristic for a girl who was of Irish origin, and that was surrounded during the beginning by gifted relatives and parents. Maureen was born in this cosy haven, August 17, 1920. Her family was her parents as well as family members. Marguerita FitzSimons was a gifted contralto. Charles FitzSimons managed a Dublin-based company and was the owner of a portion of "The Shamrock Rovers" famous Irish soccer squad. Maureen FitzSimons is the second daughter of Charles FitzSimons. Peggy FitzSimons, Florrie Fitzsimons Charles B. Fitzsimons Margot Fitzsimons rounded out the wonderful family. Maureen did well as a sporty woman and was a gruelling athlete in games as a child. This interest was combined with the natural ability to perform. That was apparent when she won each Feis for theatre and drama that Ireland had to offer. At age fourteen, she was accepted into the Abbey Theater, where her dream was to pursue the art of opera and classical theatre.
